Dear reader,

Assalaamu ‘alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh,

We start by sending all praise to none but Allah and our salutations upon the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) – who is the best guide and the reason why we are here campaigning today. With his influence, we are happy to finally announce the opening of Inspirited Minds, an organisation who aims to tackle the taboo surrounding the topic of mental illnesses.

The common connotations for the word inspirited are to enliven or to instil courage. This is the very essence of what Inspirited Minds aims to do for the minds of those who have developed an illness. We believe that, although the minds of many develop difficulties – it is no reason for them to be made to feel they are any weaker than another being. Their minds are still free; they just need a bit of support.

So here we are, Inspirited Minds. A new organisation who aims to use Islam, its teachings and the guidance from the Prophet (peace be upon him) to tackle the issues of mental health and its increasing prevalence. We intend to educate people that suffering is not a shame; but rather it is a shame upon those who refuse to help. We intend to help sufferers develop strategies to carry on with their lives and not give up. We intend to be the support and the courage for these people; and help them to revive their minds back to the state at which it was.

We have full knowledge of the difficulties which are faced when seeking help – those feelings of being rejected, of not being adequately aided, of speaking about issues you deem embarrassing. What makes it worse is, often, we have to approach someone who is of a different faith/background – thus there are things we keep hidden as we feel they will not understand. Therefore, we promise that our service will be faith-sensitive, where you will have Muslim professionals providing their services to help you in the best manner they can. Seek that which you will, and we will try our best to provide this service for you.

Our passion to make a difference to those who feel their minds have dimmed will never lose ignition. We stand as a support, to ensure that minds remain inspirited. We stand enlivened to ensure that your minds are not buried with your suffering. We will remain your encouragement until you are happy to let go. We hope to be that help, through the will of Allah, when He says;

“When (will come) the help of Allah? Ah! Verily, the help of Allah is (always) near!”
(Qur’an 2:214)

We look forward to meeting you at our forthcoming events and hope you will follow our work and support us in any way you can.

Much Love

Inspirited Minds!
