Job Title: Fundraising Officer
Team: Fundraising & Grants
Required Hours:
- Core hours must be worked which are between 11am – 3pm, 4 days a week (daily stand ups require attendance every day)
- Either a Saturday or Sunday (minimum of 2 hours) must be worked to accommodate for volunteers
Availability: All staff must attend quarterly IM team meetings (January, April, July and October, all are online, but we aim to have some face to face events every year), monthly team meetings (which are usually 1 hour), weekly check ins with team/manager and monthly supervisions with manager
Position: Voluntary
Duration: Permanent
Location: UK based, preferably London or must be able to travel to London on a quarterly basis. This role is a permanent remote role
Purpose: The Fundraising and Grants Officer will support the manager in generating revenue for Inspirited Minds, organise events and challenges that will contribute to our mission, and develop projects which will sustain the organisation’s incoming funds planning events, campaigns and other activities
Role Responsibilities
- Manage, develop and deliver comprehensive and coherent fundraising strategies to generate income for the charity
- Set and achieve realistic time-limited fundraising targets, agreed in consultation with key staff
- Work efficiently with volunteers to raise charity funds, particularly the Community Engagement team to raise awareness of our work and bring in opportunities of donations/fundraising
- Communicate with team members to plan events, campaigns, tube/mosque collections, treks/challenges and other fundraising projects supporting the organisation’s aims
- Identify, write and submit applications for grants and bids in line with our projects and aims
- Direct team members to securing funds where possible with their designated projects
- Identify and secure opportunities for sponsorships or regular donations i.e. maintaining our Business Champions, Torchbearers, sponsorships in kind or event sponsorships
- Carry out activities to help foster better relationships with donors and supporters
- Write short reports on the outcomes of each project, highlighting improvements, how much was raised and lessons learnt. These are to be discussed with team members for the guidance of future events and campaigns
- Identify areas for professional and service development for each campaigns team member
- Attend and identify supervisions and training opportunities as and when required
- Provide monthly or bi-monthly supervisions and check-ins to the events and campaigns team.
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism at all times
- Identify areas for professional development for each of the team members
- Maintain the privacy and confidentiality rights of each client
- Ensure all due diligence is carried out with regard to services provided to clients
- Conduct all tasks with regards to any and all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
- Strategise future planning according to the project planning and roadmap of Inspirited Minds, including quarterly goals in accordance with the yearly objectives
- Continually review and progress processes and guidelines for more productive working
- Liaise with other team managers/volunteers when required to grow and progress Inspirited Minds
Essential Requirements
- Experienced in events organising/managing particularly for charity
- Experience in bid writing and building partnerships/gaining sponsorships
- Show understanding of how to creatively generate revenue for Inspirited Minds
- Confidence in fundraising, physically and virtually
- Have a broad network with the ability to source additional advice, expertise and make introductions
- The ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; working under pressure and prioritise workload
- Excellent project management skills to prioritise tasks
