Inspirited Minds works with some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in our community and our team of volunteers are our lifeblood and we couldn’t be a lifeline without them. We are truly grateful for the work they do, they persevere, they are passionate and they strive to aid because they genuinely care. Our mission as a charity is to provide advice and support to those affected by mental health problems, raise awareness to reduce the stigma around mental health, especially within the Muslim community and to look at mental health and psychology from an Islamic perspective. Volunteering is an excellent way of taking your valuable lifeskills and experience and using them to benefit others in your local community. Counsellor (Male) / CBT Therapist

Job Title: Counsellor (Male) / CBT Therapist
Team: Counselling and Support
Required Hours: To be able to take on at least 2 clients at one time (session times with clients can be arranged with individual clients)
Availability: Counsellors must attend quarterly IM team meetings (January, April, July and October, all are online, but we aim to have one face to face event per year), monthly group supervisions (which usually last up to 2 hours) and meetings with their manager at the agreed times

Purpose: The counsellor/CBT Therapist will provide mental health counselling support to clients that self-refer to our services via our website

Role Responsibilities

  • Performing therapy sessions in a controlled environment with clients
  • Using verbal interaction to explore behaviour, attitudes and emotions
  • Helping clients to understand and address their inner conflicts and reflect on issues to help them make positive changes
  • Establishing a relationship of trust and respect with clients
  • Actively listening to client concerns and empathising with their position
  • Support clients in their personal development and in achieving personal goals
  • Agree on a counselling treatment plan to determine what will be covered in sessions
  • Refer clients to other sources of help, as appropriate

  • Abiding by the ethical framework for counselling or CBT
  • Experience working with Muslim clients

Desirable Requirements

  • Qualification or training in Islamic Psychology or Islamic Counselling

Advisory Board Member

Job Title: Advisory Board Member
Duration: Permanent with a yearly review
Position: Voluntary
Purpose: The Advisory Board member will provide strategic advice, guidance, support and recommendations to the management of Inspirited Minds
Availability: Advisory Board members are expected to attend the Advisory Board Meeting held on the morning of the first Sunday of every quarter (January, April, July, and October). They are currently online but we aim to have some of these meetings in person every year. Members may also be asked for assistance in between meetings

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on determining the charity’s mission, goals, policies and programme of activities
  • Provide advice on ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the charity
  • Contribute to the establishment of the charity’s strategic direction and the monitoring of any strategic plans
  • Minimise the risk associated with new ventures by providing insight and expertise
  • Provide unbiased insights and ideas from an external point of view and support the exploration of new ideas
  • Encourage the development of a governance framework that enable sustainable growth for the charity
  • Provide a stronger link with the local community and identified target groups

  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
  • Help manage and optimise organisation pages within each platform to increase the visibility of organisation’s social content
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analysing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information

Purpose: The Logistics Officer is responsible for providing logistic support to our online shop and merchandising. They will be in charge of the planning, oversight, and management and coordination of logistics support operations to ensure the smooth accomplishment of orders.

Role Responsibilities

  • Prioritise work orders and organise tasks based on shop deadlines
  • Responsible for tracking, receiving, and stocking all shop items ordered in an appropriate manner
  • Carry out organisation and packaging of items specific to shop requirements
  • Receive and dispatch goods, and verify movements of stock
  • Check purchase orders against stock levels
  • Prepare storage and delivery schedules and their costs

  • Undertake assessments to determine eligibility of potential participants

Purpose: The Content Creator will create social media content to further implement the organisation’s social media strategies and online marketing campaigns

Role Responsibilities

  • Creating a range of social media clips and reels to further engagement across all social platforms
  • Assists at shoots for video productions, including event recordings, podcasts, client testimonies and training material, to serve and promote Inspirited Minds
  • Ensure successful project completions as well as manage their own portfolio of video projects
  • Work alongside the team in the concept development of new promotional material, and scripting and storyboarding where necessary
  • Work with their team and line manager to achieve frequent, timely and positive outcomes
  • Conduct all tasks with regards to any and all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism, privacy and confidentiality at all times
  • Attend and participate in meetings
  • Work respectfully and cooperatively with colleagues, taking on board suggestions and recommendations
  • Participate and take on any further tasks in relation to the post, which may benefit Inspirited Minds

Essential Requirements

  • Proficient in video-editing tools, such as Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Knowledge of animation and motion graphics using After Effects
  • Experience in video editing, which is demonstratable by a portfolio
  • Professional experience with all social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok
  • Experience in managing social media content
  • Strong attention to detail and an eye for the latest trend and direction in design and branding
  • Self-motivated, autonomous, demonstrate initiative and flexibility
  • Collaborates and partners well within a team to deliver results

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Canva or design skills
  • Evidence of training and continued professional development
