Inspirited Minds works with some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in our community and our team of volunteers are our lifeblood and we couldn’t be a lifeline without them. We are truly grateful for the work they do, they persevere, they are passionate and they strive to aid because they genuinely care. Our mission as a charity is to provide advice and support to those affected by mental health problems, raise awareness to reduce the stigma around mental health, especially within the Muslim community and to look at mental health and psychology from an Islamic perspective. Volunteering is an excellent way of taking your valuable lifeskills and experience and using them to benefit others in your local community. Counsellor / CBT Therapist

Job Title: Counsellor / CBT Therapist
Team: Counselling and Support
Required Hours: To be able to take on at least 2 clients at one time (session times with clients can be arranged with individual clients)
Availability: Counsellors must attend quarterly IM team meetings (January, April, July and October, all are online, but we aim to have one face to face event per year), monthly group supervisions (which usually last up to 2 hours) and meetings with their manager at the agreed times

Purpose: The counsellor/CBT Therapist will provide mental health counselling support to clients that self-refer to our services via our website

Role Responsibilities

  • Performing therapy sessions in a controlled environment with clients
  • Using verbal interaction to explore behaviour, attitudes and emotions
  • Helping clients to understand and address their inner conflicts and reflect on issues to help them make positive changes

Interim Outreach & Support Project Manager

Job Title: Interim Outreach & Support Project Manager

Team: Outreach + Support

Required Hours: 7-10 hours per week, which will develop into 15 – 21 hours per week.

Availability: Team members must attend quarterly IM team meetings (January, April, July and October, all are online, but we aim to have some face to face events every year), monthly team meetings, supervisions with their manager and other meetings/trainings that are required for the role.

Position: Paid

Location: Must be based in London, and able to travel to East London, mostly on weekends but may require travel on weekdays also.

Duration: 6 months, after which the role will be made permanent depending on performance in the role.

Start date: 1st of June (induction will be conducted prior)

Purpose: Interim Outreach & Support Project Manager will take lead on a new funded project which will include managing projects from both Outreach and Support teams at Inspirited Minds. This will include developing, organising and conducting services that needs to be delivered to target demographics, managing associated finances, monitoring and evaluation, and any other administrative tasks involved with managing this project. Depending on performance, this role will be developed into a permanent full managerial role.

The Outreach + Support Manager oversees all projects and work delivered by Outreach and Support including workshops, trainings, support groups and community engagement. They will be responsible for conducting 1-1’s with team members, manage project progression, organise training for the team and liaising with other managers to progress with roadmap.

Role Responsibilities

  • To own the new funded project that will span from May 2024 – 2025. The project includes managing the delivery of workshops, support groups and peer mentoring session to particular demographics within East London. You may also be required to deliver the content if volunteers are unable to commit.
    • 2 segments of this project will be aimed to be delivered and completed by December 2024, after which your performance and success of meeting targets will determine where or not you will be offered the permanent Outreach and Support manager role.
  • Provide logistical support to Outreach workers in the creation of workshop content and Support workers in the creation of support groups including:
    • Content development/planning using Google Slides and Notion
    • Proof reading of content and making suggestions
    • Organising and attending meetings to provide feedback and refine content when required
    • Liaising with advisors to proof content and make improvements
    • Support the organisation of practice sessions for workshop and group facilitators
    • Support the organisation of training and skills development for workshop and group facilitation
  • Support the direction and goals of each team projects including:
    • Writing of guides/workbooks for beneficiaries
    • Market research including leading and running of focus groups
    • Community engagement with masaajid, schools, universities, Imaams, community leaders, professional places of work, and others
    • Identifying opportunities of collaboration, and leading on partnerships
    • Adhering to processes and guidelines for all projects and services
    • Risk assessments
    • Conducting analyses of services and writing reports when required
    • Supporting the planning and execution of large scale events
    • Facilitating, co-facilitating or offering technical support for live workshops or support groups
  • Provide project management, strategic and admin support to the Manager including:
    • Implementing Project Roadmap
    • Reporting on OKR’s (Objective Key Results)
    • Streamlining processes
    • Quantifying and measuring success of projects
    • Identifying areas for professional development for each of the team members and supporting with troubleshooting
    • Representing at management meetings and board meetings, running team meetings and checking in with team members whilst Manager is on leave
    • Providing timely, and meaningful updates as and when required to Manager

Essential Requirements

  • BSc in Psychology or social sciences
  • Experience of working in mental health or project management
  • Experience of managing a team or volunteers in any capacity or able to demonstrate good management/leadership skills
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple personalities
  • Able to work remotely safely and efficiently
  • Able to travel to East London on weekends as and when required, and some weekday/evenings may be required.

  • Able to work a minimum of 2 weekdays between 12 and 3pm and 1 weekend day (weekends can be flexible). This will increase when the role becomes a permanent managerial role.

Advisory Board Member

Job Title: Advisory Board Member
Duration: Permanent with a yearly review
Position: Voluntary
Purpose: The Advisory Board member will provide strategic advice, guidance, support and recommendations to the management of Inspirited Minds
Availability: Advisory Board members are expected to attend the Advisory Board Meeting held on the morning of the first Sunday of every quarter (January, April, July, and October). They are currently online but we aim to have some of these meetings in person every year. Members may also be asked for assistance in between meetings

  • Provide advice on determining the charity’s mission, goals, policies and programme of activities
  • Provide advice on ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the charity
  • Contribute to the establishment of the charity’s strategic direction and the monitoring of any strategic plans

Fundraising Officer

Job Title: Fundraising Officer

  • Core hours must be worked which are between 11am – 3pm, 4 days a week (daily stand ups require attendance every day)

Purpose: The Fundraising and Grants Officer will support the manager in generating revenue for Inspirited Minds, organise events and challenges that will contribute to our mission, and develop projects which will sustain the organisation’s incoming funds planning events, campaigns and other activities

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop and deliver comprehensive and coherent fundraising strategies to generate income for the charity
  • Set and achieve realistic time-limited fundraising targets, agreed in consultation with key staff
  • Work efficiently with volunteers to raise charity funds, particularly the Community Engagement team to raise awareness of our work and bring in opportunities of donations/fundraising
  • Communicate with team members to plan events, campaigns, tube/mosque collections, treks/challenges and other fundraising projects supporting the organisation’s aims
  • Identify, write and submit applications for grants and bids in line with our projects and aims
  • Direct team members to securing funds where possible with their designated projects
  • Identify and secure opportunities for sponsorships or regular donations i.e. maintaining our Business Champions, Torchbearers, sponsorships in kind or event sponsorships
  • Carry out activities to help foster better relationships with donors and supporters
  • Write short reports on the outcomes of each project, highlighting improvements, how much was raised and lessons learnt. These are to be discussed with team members for the guidance of future events and campaigns
  • Identify areas for professional and service development for each campaigns team member
  • Attend and identify supervisions and training opportunities as and when required
  • Provide monthly or bi-monthly supervisions and check-ins to the events and campaigns team.

Web and Digital Officer

Job Title: Web and Digital Officer
Team: Communications
Required Hours: 5 hours per week
Availability: Volunteers must attend quarterly IM team meetings (January, April, July and October, all are online, but we aim to have some face to face events every year), monthly team meetings (which usually last up to 2 hours) and supervisions with their manager

Purpose: The web developer will maintain the organisation’s website, increase online presence and inbound enquiries, manage weekly email communication to newsletter subscribers and Google AdWords campaigns

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain the organisation’s website including a cohesive design, content, graphics, technical aspects, admin tools, etc
  • Manage the organisation’s blog working with the Communications team members
  • Be involved where necessary, in the creation of content and loading onto the WordPress content management system
  • Responsible for Inspirited Minds weekly email communication using email software
  • Use a variety of tools, approaches, and work with others, to increase website traffic, inbound enquiries, and other online marketing presence
  • Perform search engine marketing and search engine optimisation duties working with third-party tools such as Google AdWords and Google Analytics
