Farhana and I were invited to Masjid-e-Umer and were given the privilege to deliver an Introduction to Mental Health, which spanned over a sunday afternoon, covering various mental health issues as well as contemporary taboos generated by a community of cultural ideas that have no islamic basis. The event was a huge success as we had positive feedback and plenty of interaction from the audience. Hopefully we have changed a few hearts regarding the reality of mental health and educated them about the prevalence of such ailments. The audience was engaged in many fruitful discussions and we hope to work with the organisers again in the future and thank them for their hospitality. May Allah accept it.
