On 27th October 2018, the Inspirited Minds team hosted Creative Minds, an event which sought to reconcile the link between Islam, Mental Health and creativity.
The event was oversubscribed and saw a massive amount of interest. Starting with reflections on the Qur’an and the use of tadabbur (contemplation and pondering), spoken word poets, performances and moving on to interactive workshops on calligraphy, drama therapy and storytelling through doodling, all of the attendees said that the event was inspiring and useful for them.
As a mental health organisation with a particular focus on Muslim communities, this event was a big step for Inspirited Minds and the uptake shows that events focused on creativity and using it to boost positive Mental Health is a popular idea and definitely has scope to be repeated.
Thank you to the Inspirited Minds volunteers for their support in putting the event together, our speakers on the day, our stall holders, all those who donated and finally, those who attended and took part in a fantastic event!
