Domestic violence is an incredibly taboo topic within the Muslim community and many would avidly deny its existence but the reality is starkly different. UCL Islamic Society held an event to tackle this very issue and invited Sultan to represent Inspirited Minds. He was told to narrate his own account of domestic violence from his own perspective and that which he has seen in a university setting. This was something he was not used to and during which many feelings arose, but this would be natural as much of the audience would be able to empathise with the emotion. It was an incredibly successful event as the Q&A was extensive and detailed with many asking clearly personal and heartfelt questions. Of course, none of this would be possible without the help of Allaah, so we are eternally grateful.
